Math Expo

2023-24 Math Expo

Who: All K-5 students

What: Math Expos are a great way for students to apply what they have learned in the classroom and turn those concepts into real-world applications. The activities shown at Math Expos allow mathematical concepts and theories to be viewed in new and creative ways.  The school level math expo is right around the corner here at WHES. The due date for your student(s) to complete and turn in their project is MONDAY FEBRUARY 26th, 2024.

If you aren't sure what a math expo is, it is very similar to a science fair project but all math related. Please see below for project ideas and specifications. This is also completely optional, no need to participate if your student isn't interested.

Project Categories by Grade:

K-2nd (individual or partner, up to 3 students in this grade level category)
3rd-4th (individual or partner, up to 3 students in this grade level category)
5th (individual or partner, up to 3 students in this grade level category)

Partners or groups do not have to be in the same class but in the same category! There will be 3 winners per category (1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each category)
