Kindergarten Information

Welcome to Woodland Heights Elementary, Home of the Hawks!  We hope your family will “Join Our Nest” for the 2025-2026 school year. 

Kindergarten Enrollment:  Kindergarten enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year opens on February 01, 2025.  Please click on ENROLL from our home page to begin the process. Please make sure you select the 2025-2026 school year.  

Kindergarten Open House "Round Up":  Please join us at our Kindergarten Round Up on April 2, 2025, 4:30-6:00 pm.   Come and meet our Kindergarten teachers and staff and tour our awesome school.  We are excited to share "A Day in the Life of a Kindergartener" with our new Kindergarteners and their families.

Tours: To schedule a personal tour, please call the front office at 704-663-1370 or email Alicia Johnson at Alicia_Johnson@iss.k12.nc.us. Tours take approximately 20 minutes and are only available after school.

I live outside of the WHES School boundaries. Can my child attend  WHES?  Student Reassignment Kindergarten applications are available at this link - NOTE - THE DEADLINE IS MAY 1, 2025.  

Enrollment: Children who turn 5 years old by August 31, 2025 are eligible to come to Kindergarten.  If you have any enrollment questions, please email our Data Manager, Alicia Johnson at Alicia_Johnson@iss.k12.nc.us.
